Linsanity Reached My Island!

I have been reading about the Linsanity fever that took over New York, the whole United States, China, and Taiwan for about two weeks now but I did not pay attention to it as it didn't have impact on my life. However, this past few days, I heard my teenager boy talking about Jeremy Lin, the person guilty for the Linsanity, who is now the star player or "the" Cinderalla in the NBA right now. Most of the kids in the neighborhood play basketball but I never thought that they'll be also interested in what's happening in the NBA.

And as if the Linsanity hasn't spread to my household, it has also made way to the stores in this tiny island (well, not really tiny..hehehe) that when I accompanied my aunt to buy office chairs, the clerks in the furniture shop were all busy watching Lin in the latest New York Knicks match against Dallas Mavericks.

I think Jeremy Lin's story gives hope to every Asian basketball who are not really tall but talented, to be able to play in NBA and be a star too. But what made me impressed about him is that Lin has a degree, he even went to Harvard and at the same time play. If only all basketball players, or all players would be like him. He's every parent's dream. Don't you agree?

Lots of Gifts for the Heart

 During Valentine's Day, I do not only give gifts to my husband but also to all my children. I just always want them to know that I think of them and that they are special so, this Valentine is no excuse. However, these past few years, I have been doing my gift shopping online. It's not only time and money saving, but I also find it the best way to keep my gifts as a surprised because I don't need to leave the house and do shopping and come back home with full of shopping bags in my hands that usually a giver for the surprise thing. Before, my kids would know if I prepared gifts for them, so when the occasion comes, they are not surprised anymore.

I started my online shopping as early as January, but February month has more Valentine's sale. I did my search for different online shopping sites, oh, boy, there are tons of them. RIP, Whitney Houston

I was shocked when I read the news about the sudden death of Whitney Houston last weekend. I've been a fan of her and really liked her voice and songs. It was sad that she lost her voice and she fell from glam, but she's always an icon in the music industry. I also watched her movie, The Bodyguard, with Bruce Willis, and it's still one of the Valentines movies of mine.

It's a shame that she was not able to redeem her voice, I bet she was excited for the Grammy's Awards, only not be able to wait for it. However, the Grammy's pay tribute to Whitney Houston with Jennifer Hudson singing "I Will Always Love You", which is one of the famed songs of Whitney. 

RIP, Whitney Houston.

A Prayer for Cebu Earthquake Victims

I know earthquake is not new for Filipinos, just like other calamities such as flood, typhoon, and others, however every time there's a loss of life and properties, it is just sad.

Recently, Cebu and Negros Oriental had experienced a 6.9 earthquake, and PhiVolcs is probing a new fault line, I can't help but feel fear for the people who were running and confused where to hide during the quake. Philippines, though calamities-ridden, has not learned its lesson on preparing its people on what to do during these events.

Blog Deleted Again by Blogger

I was surprised yesterday when after tweaking my other blog, Invest and Work at Home, after sometime, I got an email informing that my blog is deleted as it was detected as "spam". This is the second time that it happened, the first was last year. 

Whenever Blogger's robot does some checking, most of the online earning sites in blogspot are detected as spam.  Yesterday, I logged in my Blogger's account and requested to review to reinstate my blog as I know that just like last time, there was just a mistake, however, I do not know how long it will take before Blogger will reinstate my blog.
