Beyoncé: I'm Pregnant!

Beyoncé gave a surprise news as she arrived at the Video Music Awards last Sunday. Beyoncé who arrived the Awards night in a long, red dress, told the photographers while holding her belly that she is pregnant. Beyoncé who will turn 30 this September 4 once said that she would have a baby at 30. Jay-Z, Beyoncé's husband jumped up and down in the excitement upon learning the news. This will be Beyoncé and Jay-Z's first baby together, while Jay-z have children from the previous marriage. Congratulations, Beyoncé and Jay-z!

Pole Dancing for Fitness

Long gone the impression that pole dancing is only for strippers in the club and Vegas. Pole Dancing has evolved from being the main attraction in strip clubs to gyms and fitness centers. More and more women and some men are getting fascinated with pole dancing that it has become a fitness craze. Pole dancing  involves dancing and performing acrobatic tricks with a vertical pole and is an increasingly popular form of fitness and dance.

In the Philippines, pole dancing is finding its way to dance art and fitness. Pole dancing classes are also being offered by some fitness instructors. Even some Philippine movie stars are into pole dancing. Aside from the fitness benefit of pole dancing like losing weight and toning muscles in the arms, legs, and abs, it is also the medium of women to feel sexy.

Lea Salonga, a Disney Legend

Lea Salonga has recently brought a new laurel to our country. Having lent her singing voice to Princes Jasmine in "Aladdin", and Fa Mulan in "Mulan" and "Mulan 2", the Walt Disney Company has recognized her as a Disney Legend, the first Filipino to be given such recognition. Lea Salonga joined Tom Hanks, Elton John and Barbara Walters who were given same honors previously. The awarding was held at the D23 Expo and Lea sang the theme song of "Mulan".

Lea Salonga has long been bringing home honors to our country, and now as a Disney Legend, Lea has put the Philippine flag on the magical world of Disney. Congratulations, Lea Salonga. We are proud of you!

Ice Cream Art or Not?

Art can be found everywhere, just like beauty, art is in the eye or sense of the beholder. So, when my daughter told me that a melted ice cream, actually barely an ice cream, on the cup is an abstract art, I immediately agree with her.She said that it's a mother dancing with her child. What an imagination!

Art Not an Excuse for Blasphemy

The recent controversial art exhibit in Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has really irked not only the bishops and the priests but also the regular Catholic masses. Depicting Jesus Christ with a wooden penis and rabbit ears were just only a few of how the artists of the exhibit insensitivity. Philippines having 85% of its population is Catholic should not tolerate people who do not respect other people's belief. Art is not an excuse to desecrate religious belief!

Though the exhibit has been closed but the damage has been done. It should have not been permitted to be shown in public in the first place. What is the CCP doing? With taxpayers' money funding the CCP, it should have the common sense what is offensive and not.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Beware!

I'm just kidding of course :p , as a fan of the first Planet of the Apes movie, where Matt Damon was the hero, I didn't pass the opportunity to watch the Rise of the Planet Apes. Well, in the new movie, the Apes are scarier, angrier, and more intelligent. Though I am not a fan of 3D movies, it was great to watch the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Oh, by the way, the girl from Slumdog Millionaire, Frieda Pinto was there, together with James Franco. Better not miss it if you haven't seen it.

Kitchen First Aid: Honey

 For cuts and wounds, disinfect them with honey. Just dab the cut or wound with honey and then cover it with a bandage and your good to go. Honey is proven to have powerful antibacterial properties that are capable of destroying bacterial strains which cause infection in wounds.

So, always stock up your kitchen with honey, aside from every day sweetener and partner to bread, it is also a helpful first-aid kit.
