Another Reason to Breastfeed Your Baby

Although there were already many known benefits of breastfeeding, there are still new mothers who are reluctant to breastfeed their babies. Aside from having lower rates of infections for babies, and mothers who breastfeed have a reduced risk of breast cancer, there is a new found benefit of breastfeeding. According to the recent study called the Millennium Cohort Study conducted by British researchers from the universities of Oxford, Essex, York and from University College London to babies born in 2000-2001, they found that babies who are breastfed are less likely to grow into children with behavior problems by the time they reach the age of five than those who receive formula milk.

As a mother, I know that there are many kids who throw tantrums specially in public places in which the parents have difficulty to deal with. I am lucky that none of my kids showed behavioral problems when they were young. Maybe that is because I breastfed all my kids, so although there were some usual difficulty in raising kids, but they weren't serious compared to others which I've seen in some public places such as restaurants, malls, and church. I hope that this recent discovery of another benefit of breastfeeding will encourage mothers to breastfeed their babies.
