Saudi King Returns with $37 billion Handouts

With the rampant protests from Middle East countries, Saudi Arabia government has every reasons to be afraid that theirs is the next one. Saudi King Abdullah has returned home after he seek treatment for back operation, together with his return is the order of releasing $37 billion handouts to lower and middle-income Saudi nationals.

After Tunisia started the revolution, it has spread to Egypt, Libya, Bahrain and other Arab countries where oil is the source of wealth. These countries had their leaders for very long time, and people want change. Now, it's Saudi Arabia's turn.

One of my friends had told me that since the start of the protests, Saudi government has restricted news from outside the country. Last month, there was a sudden flood in Riyadh that cost so much destruction but people did not know that flood has come because of the news black out. The restriction of news has even cost lives because people were not warned of the coming disaster.

Now, can this handout will be able to save the monarchy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? Their family has been ruling the country for so long. Will the Saudi people want change and democracy? Only time will tell, and maybe it will be known sooner.
