Music Monday: Hold It Against Me - Britney Spears

I liked Britney Spears in her earlier career. Her songs were good and she danced really well too. I just felt bad for her when she went loco but I am happy that she bounced back. Hold It Against Me is her latest single. I like this song but I think compared to her previous songs and video, she mellowed on the dancing part.

Charlie Sheen's show Axed

I have been watching "Two and a Half Men" for several years and I am always entertained by the two and a half men there. I am saddened of the news that the CBS and Warner Bros. has canceled the production of the show. It would be a sad ending for my favorite, half man, Angus Jones who played Harper. Although I can still watch the re-runs and still laugh at it, it would be great to look forward to more new episodes, but sadly to say, there are no more new ones.

It was reported that television network, CBS canceled the  production of the show after Charlie Sheen insulted the show's producer, Chuck Lorre. In the statement given by the television network, it said, "Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season."

I wonder if alcohol has burned Charlie Sheen's mind to say derogatory remarks to the person who made him famous and rich. He really needs much help, I think.

Saudi King Returns with $37 billion Handouts

photo credit: reuters : King Abdullah greeted by a Saudi boy

With the rampant protests from Middle East countries, Saudi Arabia government has every reasons to be afraid that theirs is the next one. Saudi King Abdullah has returned home after he seek treatment for back operation, together with his return is the order of releasing $37 billion handouts to lower and middle-income Saudi nationals.

After Tunisia started the revolution, it has spread to Egypt, Libya, Bahrain and other Arab countries where oil is the source of wealth. These countries had their leaders for very long time, and people want change. Now, it's Saudi Arabia's turn.

One of my friends had told me that since the start of the protests, Saudi government has restricted news from outside the country. Last month, there was a sudden flood in Riyadh that cost so much destruction but people did not know that flood has come because of the news black out. The restriction of news has even cost lives because people were not warned of the coming disaster.

Now, can this handout will be able to save the monarchy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? Their family has been ruling the country for so long. Will the Saudi people want change and democracy? Only time will tell, and maybe it will be known sooner.

Maria Aragon, the Next Charice?

Since Lady Gaga noticed the video of Maria Aragon on YouTube and tweeted on how she was moved by Maria's cover of her song, Born This Way, this Filipina girl who now lives in Canada has suddenly risen to fame. She has just recently guested in Ellen Degeneres' show, Ellen, and once again sang the same song in the video she posted in YouTube.

No wonder that this girl is now dubbed as the next Charice Pempengco, as both had been discovered through YouTube, been guest in Ellen, and both Filipina. Although I still doubt whether Maria will reach the success that Charice has reached now, I still wish Maria the best and that this will be the start for her. Go girl!

Check out Maria's appearance in Ellen:

Chaos Around the World

I may not call it chaos totally, I may call if clamor for democracy. Every day, as I open the net to read the news, international current events are full of news about protests. This has started when Tunisia toppled their president successfully. Then the chain begins from Libya to Egypt to Bahrain to Iran and we don't know where it will end. Is this good or not?
Although at the moment, the world may seem in chaos, but these protests against the overdue presidents and leaders are a long much awaited opportunities for change. Philippines has its own drastic political change too, not only once but twice, first when the late Cory Aquino who successfully led millions of people to EDSA against the Marcos regime who spent 21-long years as the president of the country. The second was when the youth armed with mobile phones (text messages) was able force Pres. Estrada to step down from the office. These political changes in the Middle East are not far from what happened in the Philippines. Sometimes, people have just become tired and want the taste of freedom other countries have been enjoying for long time. It is time for them to savor how it is to be free and exercise their own rights.

While the people from the Middle East are fighting for their liberty and freedom, people from around the world cannot do anything but support and pray that they would be successful, and the transition will be smooth, and that the next leaders will learn and not abuse power.

Are You Afraid of The BLACK MAMBA?

No! I am not afraid of the BLACK MAMBA nor should I fear it!

Why should I fear the BLACK MAMBA when my favorite NBA player IS the BLACK MAMBA? That's right, you hear me right, Kobe Bryant is the Black Mamba.

The Black Mamba stars Kobe Bryant as the protector of basketball against those who wish to destroy the game. In this film, Kobe is showcased as the greatest basketball player on the planet and his alter ego, The Black Mamba will come to life to protect the game that he loves. It will show Kobe's determination and fighting spirit that we normally see in the court.

Joining Kobe Bryant in the film are Kanye West, Bruce Willis, Danny Trejo. The Black Mamba is a Nike Basketball production, directed by Robert Rodriguez.

So, should I fear The BLACK MAMBA?

All Blogspot.com Blogs Down?

As of this writing, I noticed that all blogspot.com blogs are down. While Adgitizing, blogs that have url address of blogspot.com are not opening. However, blogs hosted by blogger but with own domain name are not affected. I am actually trying to open my two blogs, which are both hosted by blogger and both has blogspot.com domain but unfortunately it is not opening. I do not know what is happening, I hope this is just temporary. I'll try to search more if I can find answer to this problem but I really hope that it is nothing serious.

I Am Loud!

I live where typhoon, flood, or volcano eruption constantly bother us. These natural disasters are our constant visitors that living a normal life seems impossible. Sometimes I wonder why it seems progress is so difficult when we are also hardworking. But of course, I know the answer.

Althoughpeople here in my place are already get used to these calamities, every time a new typhoon or volcano eruption is still meet with fear. Fear for lives and for livelihood. During these times, I always prove to my family and my neighbors to be LOUD. How can anybody be loud  at these times? It's simple. Just be the support to everybody and at the same time, be cautious for my own family. I always face these natural calamities with brave heart and always with hope, that after the rain, after the heavy ashes, a ray of sunshine will come.

Like the new LOUD by Tommy Hilfiger, my being LOUD for my family and my neighbors is all I can do to survive every each of these disasters

Julie and Julia and I

Last night, I watched the DVD I recently bought, its title is Julie and Julia. I missed this movie when it was shown in the theater so when I saw that the DVD in the mall, I decided to buy it. It is a great movie and I could relate as a blogger and someone who loves to eat and cook.

Julie and Julia is a true story of Julie who lives a boring and unsuccessful life. She decided to make her life worthy by cooking and blogging about Julia Child's recipes for 365 days. The movie shows the life of the famous chef, Julia Child, her beginnings and way to success in 1950's as it intertwines to Julie's life at the present time and how Julia's life affects Julie's.

I love Meryl Streep who played Julie Child. She really captured the character of Julia Child. Amy Adams was also great in her role as Julie. This is a must-watch if you haven't seen it.

It's February again, and it's the month for love, lovers and romance.. haaaayyyzz.

Well, it's a tradition hehehe... so guys, start searching what your lovey-dovey wants for Valentine's Day, and make sure it won't break your bank.

Anyways, it the month of love, so why all these negative vibes. Happy Valentine's Month!
