Music Monday: Crescent Moon - Charice

For today's Music Monday, my entry is Crescent Moon by Charice. Originally, the Japanese version was sung by the Japanese singer Ayaka, it is translated to English and now part of Charice's album Japanese edition. This song became an instant hit in Japan and currently in number 1 position in Billboard Japan.

The video below is when Charice guested in a radio station in Japan. She sang Crescent Moon during the visit. I love this song and I know the lyrics by heart.

Aloe Lips: Lip Balm and A First Aid Kit

I've recently received two lip balms for me to review and I am glad that I get the chance to review it, why? Because, I found out that it's not only just a lip balm. Aloe Lips with Jojoba is a lip balm and a mini-first aid kit!

As a lip balm, Aloe Lips has a candy-flavored smell that you would love. My daughter loves it, she thought it's a candy hehehe... It's also an excellent lip moisturizer specially these cold days. Usually, during cold and hot seasons, lips tend to chap and dry, mine always do, so I immediately tried it and just in few minutes, the dried, chapped skin lifted off and my lips has become soft. Since I got two, I used one and I gave the other one to my daughter. She can't get enough of it that she even asked me to take a photo of her lips :p

Now, as I have said earlier, it is not only a lip balm. Aloe Lips with Jojoba is also good for mosquito bites, burns, scalds, sores, cuts, itchiness, sunburn, and other skin problems. Usually, when we suffer from these, we put a balm to soothe it, but applying Aloe Lips with Jojoba is much better because the smell is sweet and it doesn't have the burning sensation that normal balms usually have.

Aloe Lips contains aloe vera extract, jojoba oil, beeswax, and allantoin. These ingredients provide the soothing effects to the skin, so Aloe Lips is not only good for lips but for any other skin conditions. Aloe Lips with Jojoba is really an excellent Lip Balm and a First Aid Kit that every one of us should have.

An Oscars-snubbed Inception

I have watched Inception and agreed to the critics that it is the best movie in the 2010 and was also expecting that it will take lots of awards from the 2011 Oscars, but I was disappointed when the list of nominations in the upcoming the Academy Award was released. Although, Inception is nominated for Best Picture but the director, Christopher Nolan is not. It also did not get nominations on other major categories. I was expecting that Leonardo DiCarpio will be nominated for Best Actor. Well, as I've said in my previous post, the Oscars is full of surprises and unexpected results. Do you think Inception should have gotten more nominations in Oscars?

Jesse James and Kat Von D Engaged?

When I heard that Jesse James, the ex-husband of Sandra Bullock, is having a relationship with the celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D, I was quite shocked because he was immediately able to get into a relationship after a failed marriage with Sandra. And now, they're engaged? Yes, that's true.

Jesse James was quoted in one of the magazine interview, "You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs," Jesse told the mag.
"I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day," he continued. "My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes'."

I watched Kat Von D in LA Ink and I think she's a nice girl, so I really hope that Jesse James will not break her heart.Good luck and Congrats!

My Blog Got PR 2!

I am so happy today, this blog has finally got its page rank and it's 2! I am so happy that I jumped for joy as soon as I saw that there's rank 2 in the page checker. I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought it was just one of the samples of icons in the page rank checker site but then I double checked it. And it's TRUE! PR 2, baby! Let's open the champagne! And for the double celebration, my money making site, which had no PR before, not even PR 0, got PR 1 too! This is really great. After 9 months of  blogging and all my hard work have finally bear its fruits. Thanks, Google! Now, I only have to maintain this PR and hope to increase it more. Good luck to me!

Finger-Lickin' Good Rack of Lamb Steak

Did you ever wish to just indulge yourself once in a while to a tasty, finger-lickin' good rib of lamb? Oh, yeah, but you will say, it's expensive... or.. it's difficult to cook.. what else? Just too lazy, eh?

Yeah, yeah... I understand, because I am too! So, I am giving you my ever-lazy rack of lamb steak recipe! It's so easy as 1-2-3!

1. Buy. Go to the meat store and choose a good rack and ask the butcher to cut them for you. Then, go home and imagine yourself for a lazy afternoon licking your fingers with the remains of the sauce left on the tip of your fingers hehehe...

2. Marinate. Wash the rack of lamb, pat dry with a towel. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, and dry herbs. Rub the lamb with this mixture and leave for about 5 minutes. Then, in a bowl, pour 2 tablespoon of soy sauce, a teaspoon of vinegar, 2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, some lime/lemon juice, and a tablespoon of sugar. Then, put the spiced lamb on the liquid mixture and massage them, making sure that each piece is coated with the sauce. Leave the lamb in the bowl with the sauce, cover, and marinate for 15 - 30 minutes.

3. Cook. Crush and dice a good amount of garlic, if you like onion, you can dice onion too. On a heated pan, put 2 tablespoon of olive oil (or any cooking oil you have, i prefer olive oil as it gives additional flavor and aroma to the meat), and a tablespoon of butter. Saute the garlic and onion till golden brown (hmm... love the smell of it :p). Place the rack of lamb one by one on the pan and sear them, turning to another side to get the brownish color. After all lamb are seared, pour the remaining sauce from the marination and put 1 cup of water on the pan, put some salt and pepper to taste, and cover. After 30 minutes or so, check if all water has disappeared and the meat is tender. It should be dried and the sauce will be sticky. If there are still water, continue cooking until all the water has evaporated. When it is totally dried, lower the fire, taste the sauce and adjust the salt and pepper. Roll the rack of lamb to the sauce in the pan until they are all covered with the shiny sauce. Put off the fire and let stand for a minute or two before putting the rack of lamb on the plate.

4. Oh, I lied, it's not as easy as 1-2-3, there's number 4. Wash you hand, put on a bib, seat yourself comfortably...and dig in!

Drinking Minute Maid Pulpy All the Way

I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe... yeah.. maybe there's no preservatives.. but they are kiddin', right? no preservatives??! com'on...

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added.  So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED!  That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or worse...carcinogens!  Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I... I am now just lovin' it. plus the taste so good, the rich orange that is never to compare with other juice...

So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right?  Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means... I can drink as much as I want without worrying that it is not good for health...

So far anyone who still has a hard time believing that Minute Maid has got no preservatives added - meaning it's THAT natural, it's almost like it's plucked straight from the tree, it's just as Mother Nature wanted your orange juice to be, it's got nothing but the good stuff yes, none of those potentially toxic stuff that can harm your brain, kidneys, heart; cause tumors aargh- the list of preservatives' bad effects just go on!!! Anyway, just to prove a point on just how good Minute Maid Pulpy is 'cause it's got NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED, I'm gonna drink up all the Pulpy Minute Maid that I can get... with the rich Orange fruit juice without anything to worry about... well, Let's Gulp the Pulpy Minute Maid Down!

Feels good to know about the real pulpy deal, right? C’mon show me a smile on the comment box, and you might win yourself a Really Pulpy Deal! (That’s a chance to win a Minute Maid gift pack simply by commenting. Sweet! C'mon you just might be picked as the lucky 'commentor'!)

Note To God for Arizona Shooting Victims

I am dedicating this Music Monday entry to Christina Taylor Green, and to all the victims of the shooting in Arizona. Christina was 9-year-old girl who was born on the day of 9/11 attack in United States and therefore was covered as one of the Faces of Hope. She was killed along with the others while waiting in line to talk to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords during the shooting rampage. Her mother said that she was in the meet-and-greet event of Rep. Giffords as she has just been elected as president in her class and she was interested in politics.

In memory of Christina, along with other 5 people who died and those who were injured, to their families and the people of Arizona and United States, I dedicate this song, Note to God, sung by Charice. I hope that this tragedy will serve as an eye opener to everyone.

Murder Victim Snaps Photo of His Killer

Look at the photo guys, this happened in the Philippines when Reynaldo Dagsa, a councilor in Manila, took a photo of his family just outside his house on the new year's eve and coincidentally, his murderer was included in the photo that he snapped just seconds away before he was shot two times. Reynaldo Dagsa was pronounced dead on arrival. It seems that fate did not let the killer, who was identified as Michael Gonzales (in circle), go freely as he is now identified without the need of witness as the victim had left a perfect witness to the crime. Included in the photo is the family of the victim (faces are partly covered to protect their identities) and the accomplice (in square) to the crime who was identified by the police too.
