A New Year's Resolution

I am trying to convince myself that this coming new year, I will be able to list some things that I need to get done in 2012 or at least try to get them done, however, based on experience, my previous strings of new year's resolutions just became an unfulfilled promises which made me feel sad.

If the belief of end of the world in 2012 is correct, some said that it's based on Mayan calendar though I don't share that belief, then I really need to jot down some to-do lists and make sure to accomplish them in the next year. I think the first one on my list will be losing weight, or at least fat, it's not only for beauty purpose but also for health. Recently, I'm not really feeling good of myself since my tummy bulges are quite affecting my activities and convenience. Aside from that, I am spending a considerable amount of money just to re-size my wardrobe, though I enjoyed shopping them (LOL).

Next on the list will be working harder. Last few months, I have been feeling lazy and postponing many tasks. Securing my financial status specially of my family is important specially on emergency situations when nobody is ready to help you. Luckily, I had not had that emergencies this year, and I'm crossing my fingers X.

I have other things in my mind, and I better list them down before I forget them... reaching for a pen and paper... :)

Writing with Parker

This post brought to you by Parker Pens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Since I was a student, I was always on the quest of owning a good writing pen. Even with the popularity of computer, which cut my paper and pen writing to 50%, I still am a proud owner of several pen, some were gifts by friends who knew my loved for this writing tool and some were gifts to moi when I needed to uplift my mood.

Photos of Parker Pen

Parker has always been a favorite pen and I got my first Parker pen as a gift from my dad on my high school graduation. Parker pens are innovative and the designs are always modern and trendy. Parker is beautiful as it is modern. The attention-grabbing design elements and trend inspired finishes make this the newest must-have accessory to compliment your lifestyle. Refills are also of latest technology so you'll never run out of ink. The 5th technology refill combines the best of all current writing modes - the beauty of a fountain pen, the smooth writing experience of a rollerball, and the ease of a ball point.

Ever since, I always on the look whenever Parker rolls out new pen collections, like now, the Parker Ingenuity collection is a good charm, it's so fashionable and at the same time clever. This will be a perfect partner in business and pleasure, or when in a business meeting where I need to present my ideas in the best light, Parker Ingenuity could really pull everything together.

Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol - Tom Cruise Come Back Movie?

Tom Cruise hasn't made a hit movie recently and fans are wondering if his star power is gone. Well, Cruise will once again prove that he is still the force to be reckon with in the new Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol as he is back as Ethan Hunt. While Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol trailer promises an action-packed movie, and an Eminem song "Won't Back Down", we will still about to see whether Tom Cruise can still make people buy tickets to watch him.

My prediction is yes since the movie is released on the December, a month of holiday and fat-purses, plus I still believe that there are Tom Cruise hard-core fans and/or MI movies fanatics. Though I am still quite not convinced whether the ordinary story plot of going rogue and clearing name will be a big hit for the moviegoers. It seemed the writers have got nothing new to write. How many action movies have we seen with the same storyline? Well see on December 16, for the meantime, just watch the MI4: Ghost Protocol trailer:

Signs That You Have Diabetes

I came from the family with a history of diabetes, so I am wary all the times that my kids and I may have too. I saw my family members succumb to diabetes and actually some passed away due to the complications caused by it. It's a scary thought that always bugs my mind.

Having knowledge about diabetes and the signs of diabetes helps to prepare me and my family. At the moment, though I haven't seen any signs of diabetes in me nor my children, knowing what to look for and how to avoid trigger diabetes really keep my mind at ease. A regular visit to doctor for overall health check up is a must for my family and I suggest that to others who have family history of diabetes and other diseases.

Here are the list of signs that are common to diabetic person:
1. Frequent visit to bathroom to urinate.
2. Always thristy.
3. Weight loss or weight gain without any reason.
4. Healing of wounds is slow. Infection keeps coming back.
5. Blurry vision.
6. Gum infection, swollen of gums, and losing of teeth.

When some of these signs are present, it is important to visit the doctor.
Be healthy!

Miss Philippines Runner Up Again

It seems that the titles for international beauty pageants are always too near yet too far for the Philippines' beauties. In the recent Miss World pageant held yesterday in London, our representative Miss Philippines Gwendoline Ruais came First Runner-up to Miss Venezuela Ivian Sarcos who was crowned Miss World 2011.

This year's Miss World pageant was unique for Filipinos because there were three Filipinas competed for the crown. They are Filipino-Canadian Riza Santos who was Canada’s bet, Filipino-Danish Maya Celeste Padillo Olesen who represented Denmark and the Philippines’ Gwendoline Ruais. Does this mean that Philippines are producing more and more beauties? Well... :) Congratulations to all the girls!

Manny Pacquiao, The Godfather

In the latest Philippines and Latin American edition of Newsweek, Manny Pacquaio is featured on its cover, this is due to his oncoming fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12. In the cover, Manny is called the Godfather.

I laughed at the thought that Newsweek is right in calling Manny Pacquaio as Godfather as he definitely been the godfather of many, from baptismal to weddings. Aside from that, he may have been taken the role of any Godfather we saw in the movies, not to the extent of breaking the law but in a more subtle way like giving and doing favors to people from different walks of life.

On November 12, let's just hope that the Philippines' Godfather will continue to win.

VA Loans for Home Makeover

Recently, I was helping my cousin whose husband is serving in military for her home makeover. Her house was badly beaten by the recent typhoon and since her husband is always away, it is timely to repair her house to keep her safe. Nowadays, construction materials and manpower too. Though she has some savings, it was not enough to fund her home makeover. I once suggested to her to apply for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition but she just brushed it off. Luckily, her husband applied for the VA loans. Since her husband is still an active in service, he is eligible.

One good thing with getting VA loans is that the loan rates are at a record low and there's a possibility to lower the monthly payment too. Even if you have an existing home loan, you can easily get FHA refinancing without taking cash from your pocket. So, planning for a home makeover for my cousin is easy for her without worrying about the cost; she can even buy a new house if she wants.

Libya is Free, Gadhafi is Dead, What now?

When the news broke out yesterday of Libya's former dictator Moammar Gadhafi, I remember the Iraq when Saddam Hussein was caught hiding, but unlike Saddam Hussein, Gadhafi got the taste of his own medicine when the rebels expressed their anger on him upon capture till he died.

For now, Libya is celebrating of their new-found freedom but the question is what's next? Will Libya become Iraq or will it follow the footstep of Tunisia? I wish Libya well. I hope that they will use this freedom to better their country. I hope the the former rebels will drop their weapons since their dictator is now dead. I hope that these former rebels will help their new government to build their country again. I hope that they will not become Iraq which remains chaotic despite the oust and death of their dictator.

To people in Libya, use and treasure your new-found freedom well. Good luck!

The Truth About Free Plane Tickets to Japan

I read the news about the 10,000 Free Round-Trip Tickets to Japan that is reported to be given by the Japan Tourism Agency to encourage tourists to visit Japan due to the decline of the visitors coming to Japan because of the nuclear scare.

Many people who read this news are ecstatic about getting the free ticket because as we all know, Japan has a rich culture, good food, and still a great place to visit despite the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters months ago.

However, the truth about these 10,000 FREE Round-Trip Plane tickets to Japan is that these tickets are not available yet as per Japan Tourism site said, "it is subject to government budgetary approval, and no details have been decided yet." So, for those who are planning of applying for these free plane tickets, I suggest to not be misled by the news and just wait for further announcement from the Japan National Tourism website instead.

Good Bye, Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs
1955-2011

Steve Jobs, the man behind Apple, Pixar and the one who changed the world with his legendary vision in technology, passed away, he was only 56.  His death is not a shocked since it was known that he was from pancreatic cancer. He resigned as the CEO from Apple last August and took leave of absence though returned in the launching of the new Ipad.

The man who brought Iphone, Ipod, Ipad, Imac, Itunes and changed the course of mobile phones and computers, Steve Jobs, will be truly missed. Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs. Thank you for your contribution to the world.

To share memories and condolences, Apple has created an email address where you can send your emails: rememberingsteve@apple.com

Filipino's Planking for a Cause

photo from google image

Protest has a new name, PLANKING. Although planking, which is lying face down on mostly unusual place, is popular in other countries, in the Philippines, Pinoys are using planking as a new way of protest. Just like this week, in a protest to the budget cut of state colleges and universities, students joined a mass planking which led to halt usual activities and traffic, another is the protest on the oil increase.

Since planking has found its way in the protests, the lawmakers have proposed a law against it. Will it be pass as a law? I doubt it. Planking is a form of expression and if this will be banned, then the right to express of the citizens is suppressed. I think what the authorities need to do is to think of the way on how to deal with people who protest through planking. How about designating areas where they can plank or asking these people to get a protest permit before they can plank.

I am not for planking since it distracts the normal flow of activities, but that's the purpose of any protests, right? However, I am for the right for expression.

Addicted to Man vs Food

I've got some free time this weekend to feed my hunger on television, however there was not good program to watch so I decided to check out some shows in Food Network. I love eating and cooking and from time to time, I try recipes that I saw on cooking shows.

One of the shows that I really like watching, (because it entertains me and also it gives me the appetite to eat :p) is Man vs Food. The host, Adam, tries all the food challenges in almost all restaurants in United States. He has recently invaded Los Angeles Restaurants as well as  the Lower East Side restaurants. Aside from doing the food challenges, Adam has also dug into New York City menus in search of the biggest, largest, heaviest, and tastiest dish available.

The last Man vs Food episode I saw was the challenge in the Mexican restaurant with the biggest burito. And guess who won? The food of course! Adam wasn't able to finish the gigantic burito and for that, he had to wear a pink t-shirt with a loser sign and of course, his picture on Wall of Shame.

I'm thinking that if I am going to do a food challenge, the challenge that I may have a change on is a steak challenge, since I love meat. Well, well, I know that doing a food challenge will be a dream (nightmare?) for me. Yum!

Miss Universe 2011 Goes to Miss Angola

Angola has produced it's first Miss Universe winner through Leila Lopes. The first runner-up was 23-year-old Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine and the second runner-up was Priscila Machado of Brazil. The third was Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup and the fourth Miss China Luo Zilin. The pageant was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12.

One of the judges was our own Ms. Lea Salonga, a Tony award winner. It seems that the Philippines has been in the Top 5 of the Miss Universe pageant for several years and still fail to bring home the crown. Maybe next year?

Getting Free Stuffs at Listia

Few days ago, I received the parcel from U.S. which I won in the bidding in Listia.com. The box contains books, clothes, and other fun stuffs and the kids are loving them specially the playing cards with trivia. I never thought that the seller would really send these stuffs since Philippines is really quite far, but this only proves that members of Listia.com are serious sellers and buyers. The credits earned or paid are also used to buy items in Listia, so basically, it's like getting free stuffs.

I joined  Listia two months ago and immediately after I joined, I got free credits which I used to bid in those items I won. I only paid for the shipping fee. The seller was kind enough to search for the cheapest way to ship. She almost didn't get anything since most of the items I won cost 1 credit only, but she was really kind that she extend her effort to box everything I won and send them to Philippines all the way from United States.

I still have more than 500 free credits in Listia and I'm still looking for some stuffs to bid on. For members like me, who are not from U.S., it is better to bid items from same seller so that the shipping can be done in bulk which is way cheaper. I also like to sell something in Listia so I'm looking at the things around the house which items I could put in auction.

Do you like to join Listia? Sign Up HERE and get FREE Credits Immediately.

Moneyball Trailer

The last Brad Pitt movie that I watched were the Inglorious Basterds and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Both movies were really good and Bad Pitt portrayed really two different characters. This time, Moneyball will show another different character as Billy Beane as he attempts to create a competitive baseball team at a fraction of the cost of the large market teams. I think it's a fresh take of Brad Pitt since I don't remember him doing movie related to sports. The movie is based on the book of the same title written by Michael Lewis. Moneyball film is due to release in US on September 23 and in Philippines on November 23.

Largest Crocodile Found in Philippines

A huge crocodile, which was believed to have eaten a farmer was caught in the Southern Philippines in Agusan del Sur. The giant crocodile, which is "the largest crocodile caught on record", measures 21-foot (6.4-meter) and 1,075-kilogram (2,370-pound). There is still a doubt whether the biggest crocodile, called "Lolong" is really a man-eater because there was no human remains nor buffalo remains in his stomach when he was forced to vomit.

The biggest crocodile, Lolong, would easily dwarf the largest captive saltwater crocodile, which the Guinness World Records website lists as Cassius, a 5.48-meter (18-foot) male which lives at an Australian nature park

New Two and a Half Men Show

It seemed that even the real Charlie will be out of the new Two and a Half Men, Charlie Harper will still be in the new season, not really, but according Jon Cryer, reference to Charlie Harper will be peppered in the next season. He also revealed that his character will be a love doctor. Hmm... will this new format work? Let's hope that Ashton Kutcher will bring some flare in the show. Can't wait to see the new Two and a Half Men.

Pole Dancing for Fitness

Long gone the impression that pole dancing is only for strippers in the club and Vegas. Pole Dancing has evolved from being the main attraction in strip clubs to gyms and fitness centers. More and more women and some men are getting fascinated with pole dancing that it has become a fitness craze. Pole dancing  involves dancing and performing acrobatic tricks with a vertical pole and is an increasingly popular form of fitness and dance.

In the Philippines, pole dancing is finding its way to dance art and fitness. Pole dancing classes are also being offered by some fitness instructors. Even some Philippine movie stars are into pole dancing. Aside from the fitness benefit of pole dancing like losing weight and toning muscles in the arms, legs, and abs, it is also the medium of women to feel sexy.

Lea Salonga, a Disney Legend

Lea Salonga has recently brought a new laurel to our country. Having lent her singing voice to Princes Jasmine in "Aladdin", and Fa Mulan in "Mulan" and "Mulan 2", the Walt Disney Company has recognized her as a Disney Legend, the first Filipino to be given such recognition. Lea Salonga joined Tom Hanks, Elton John and Barbara Walters who were given same honors previously. The awarding was held at the D23 Expo and Lea sang the theme song of "Mulan".

Lea Salonga has long been bringing home honors to our country, and now as a Disney Legend, Lea has put the Philippine flag on the magical world of Disney. Congratulations, Lea Salonga. We are proud of you!

Ice Cream Art or Not?

Art can be found everywhere, just like beauty, art is in the eye or sense of the beholder. So, when my daughter told me that a melted ice cream, actually barely an ice cream, on the cup is an abstract art, I immediately agree with her.She said that it's a mother dancing with her child. What an imagination!

How about you? What do you see?

Art Not an Excuse for Blasphemy

The recent controversial art exhibit in Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has really irked not only the bishops and the priests but also the regular Catholic masses. Depicting Jesus Christ with a wooden penis and rabbit ears were just only a few of how the artists of the exhibit insensitivity. Philippines having 85% of its population is Catholic should not tolerate people who do not respect other people's belief. Art is not an excuse to desecrate religious belief!

Though the exhibit has been closed but the damage has been done. It should have not been permitted to be shown in public in the first place. What is the CCP doing? With taxpayers' money funding the CCP, it should have the common sense what is offensive and not.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Beware!

I'm just kidding of course :p , as a fan of the first Planet of the Apes movie, where Matt Damon was the hero, I didn't pass the opportunity to watch the Rise of the Planet Apes. Well, in the new movie, the Apes are scarier, angrier, and more intelligent. Though I am not a fan of 3D movies, it was great to watch the Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Oh, by the way, the girl from Slumdog Millionaire, Frieda Pinto was there, together with James Franco. Better not miss it if you haven't seen it.

Kitchen First Aid: Honey

For cuts and wounds, disinfect them with honey. Just dab the cut or wound with honey and then cover it with a bandage and your good to go. Honey is proven to have powerful antibacterial properties that are capable of destroying bacterial strains which cause infection in wounds.

So, always stock up your kitchen with honey, aside from every day sweetener and partner to bread, it is also a helpful first-aid kit.

Charice's One Day Music Video

Don't be afraid and follow your dreams. This is the message of Charice's new music video, One Day. Just like Charice, she is also telling her fans to take chances and pursue their dreams. Charice's fans had been waiting for this video for the song "One Day",  which is co-written by Nick Jonas.

I think the video is Glee-inspired, but really beautiful and convincing. Check out the video below:

Amy Winehouse Dead

While doing my blog visits, I saw from Jullbar a post about Amy Winehouse death. The singer was found dead in her apartment in London and her death's reason is still unknown.

Although I am not a fan of her, I heard her songs and boy, she was really talented and had a great voice. Winehouse had been in the news in the past for her drug use and public misdemeanor. I pity her for her early demise. What a waste of a talent and life. RIP Amy Winehouse.

The Smurfs Movie

Imagine a movie with Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Glee, Project Runway, and Avatar? And imagine your old favorite cartoon characters mixed up with real people? Yeah, I'm talking about "The Smurfs".

Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara, Jayma Mays, and Tim Gun will all be together in The Smurfs, and the Avatar? Well, the Smurfs are all blue, but they've been blue even before James Cameron created Avatar, so I think it's unfair for the Smurfs to be associated with Avatar.

The Smurfs will be out in the cinema this July 29th and of course, in 3D. I don't understand the 3D fad of the movies today.

Watch the trailer below before you decide to watch or not:

Japan Won FIFA Women World Cup 2011

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens in the theaters in the Philippines yesterday, July 14, and many have anticipated the release of the final movie of Harry Potter. My kids are also bugging me of watching Harry Potter 3D, so I have been searching online for cinemas where I can book movie tickets but the kids need to wait few days since the only movie theater that shows 3D in our place is still not showing it.

So for the mean time, they can watch the trailer:

Free Dating Site

This post brought to you by luvfree. All opinions are 100% mine.

The traditional ways of meeting life partner are long gone, the horizon has become much wider. Thanks for the internet, individuals who are looking for love and life partners have more choices than before. Internet dating sites have become the medium for many nowadays, and they also sprouted like mushrooms.

Luv Free is one of the online dating sites but unlike other dating sites, Luv Free is a free dating site. Out of curiosity, I opened an account. Compared to other dating sites that have restricted functionalities for free members, Luv Free is a total liberal dating sites. Members can exchange emails and phone numbers. They can also view all members profiles, share and comment on pictures and videos. All these without paying a single dime, so the members can really get to know each other.

There are also articles on tips on dating, making profiles noticeable, and using dating sites. The advance search function of Luv Free shows results of preferred gender, age, country, and type of relationship. It's the fast way to choose people whom you would want to know better.

I think Luv Free is a perfect dating site for people who are looking for any type of relationship at no cost at all.

Lending a Helping Hand

I am still feeling lucky to be living in a place where every one is ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Before I settled here, I was living in the city where I did not know anyone and where nobody will dare to lift a finger at you when you are in need much more when you are in danger. Right now, I feel secure that our neighbors will always be ready to help us anytime as we are to them.

Just like today, a neighbor's only child will be celebrating her 18th birthday and every one is so busy. Everyone has volunteered to be part of the preparation. My family and I sponsored the picture bags which have the picture of the debutant, and inside the bag will have the thank you gifts for the visitors. Others do the cleaning of the place and decorations, a family of good cook prepares the food, and other families are on the cake. I just imagine that this kind of preparation will be so expensive if done in the city where you need to pay everybody just to have this kind of celebration to happen.

As usual, the parents of the debutant are so happy and thankful, and for us, we are always happy to be part of the event and give helping hands.

Not Getting Sleep? Some Tips for a Goodnight Sleep

Many people suffer insomnia, most of them are those who have flexible working hours like people who work in call centers, factory, and security. I also suffer from insomnia from time to time, so I listed below some of the tips I found and heard.

1. Set the mood. The bedroom needs to have proper light, ventilation, and aroma. Dim lights are suitable and some use aromatic candles to soothe the senses. Proper ventilation is important too.  Of course the bed is really important too, make the bed according to your comfortableness. If sleeping during the day, cover the eyes with mask to avoid sunlight.

2. Wear light clothes (or Naked?). It's always better to wear light and comfortable sleeping clothes. The type of clothes worn sends the signal to the body of what kind of activity the body is up to.

3. Freshen up. It is most likely to go to deep sleep when the body is freshen up, so a bath before going to bed is useful. It is also hygienic.

4. Drink some warm drinks. They say that a warm milk helps to get sleep, but if you are lactose intolerant, you can try a tea with lavender or chamomile. Though many will not agree, a coffee with milk always works for me.

5. Play some music (or don't?). I don't specify what kind of music to play because some people can get better sleep with mellow music and some with rock music. So play the music that you think will put you into sleep. When sleeping in a new place, try to record the night noise from the previous place (like city noise) and play it. If you prefer a quite place then earplugs will be useful.

So, those are some of the tips that I can share to you. Hope that helps. Have a tight sleep :)

JK Rowling Puts Harry Potter in Digital

JK Rowling made a buzz last week when a mysterious website showed a count down timer prompting Harry Potter fans make guesses on what's new with Harry Potter. And with a statement that the website has nothing to do with the recent and last installment of Harry Potter movie, the guesses continue.
Recently, JK Rowling unveils her magical website, www.pottermore.com and offers her subscribers for a magical experience online. Along with this is the availability of the Harry Potter e-books which can be bought directly from the website starting October. Online fans will also be able to immerse themselves in the Harry Potter's magical world through online reading supported by graphics and videos. The digital Potter e-books and audiobooks will be available in different languages including English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

The website, www.pottermore.com will be open to the public on July 31st, so make sure to visit it that time. I guess, it will be a good experience to read Harry Potter in a magical settings.

Beating the Sinus Headache

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

PharmacistWhen I heard that my cousin from Minnesota was coming for vacation, I immediately reminded her of bringing the medicine for my son who has chronic sinus headache. It's the Wal-Phed PE Maximum Strength Sinus Headache. My cousin introduced it to me several years ago when I told her about my son's problem of sinus headache. She, herself, suffers from sinus headache and had been taking Wal-Phed PE to relieve from pain, so once in a while, she would ship few boxes of Wal-Phed PE for my son. This time, she got a good offer since Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products is giving a buy 1 take 1 offer, so for the price of one, I'd be getting 2 boxes.

My son has been feeling better since he started taking Wal-Phed PE Maximum Strength Sinus Headache caplets. The effect starts to kick in just few minutes after taking, compared to other pain killer tablets that can be bought here that he had to wait for an hour at least before he could feel relief. He also does not feel sleepy after taking it unlike the others that he would be drowsy. So, he can perform better without the sinus pain and drowsiness. I saw the improvement on his emotional stability, as he is not irritable and he often plays with kids now.

My cousin does not buy Wal-Phed PE only but other Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products. Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products are a great value, allowing families and individuals to save money without sacrificing quality or trust. With the rising cost of health care, saving money on over-the-counter medications can really benefit a family’s budget and it supports bringing preventive wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™. Most of the medicines contain the same active ingredients as other brands. They are pharmacists recommended and they guarantee 100% satisfaction. So, every time she and her family would come home, expect Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products as gifts.

By the way, some bloggers are giving away some Walgreens Gift Cards, you may wanna check the giveaways.

Nostalgia from the Coffee Beans

A friend abroad sent me a pack of coffee beans. Although I don't have a coffee maker, I was so excited to try it. I remember my beloved late-grandma, who used to ask my help to make coffee from scratch. She had several coffee trees and she used to ask me to harvest the fruits. I remember suckling some of the ripe coffee fruits as there are sweet specially the red ones. After picking the fruits, I would help her dry the beans under the sun, it usually took several days but I didn't mind at all since she would bribe me with her homemade chocolate tablet. Once the coffee fruits are dried, she would pound them in the large mortar and pestle, the wood type, so that the skin will separate from the beans. After that, she'll throw the skins and roast the beans. The house would usually be filled with nice coffee aroma and even the neighbors would ask what was she preparing. While roasting the beans, I would be pestering my grandma asking how long would it take as I was excited to go to the town to have the coffee beans ground from the only milling house in the center of the town. The ground coffee was then stored in the glass bottle for daily consumption. We hadn't bought instant coffee before until she passed away. After she's gone, nobody seemed interested to harvest the coffee fruits until the trees just died due to insect infestation.

I'd never thought that these golden black coffee beans would bring back the memories of my grandma.

Father Waves Son's School Bus Everyday in Custumes

If your father would do this to you, do you think he did it for love or for fun? I think both. I just commend this father for taking his sense of humor and love for his son to the next level. Meet Dale Price and his family!

Every day, Dale would dress up in different costumes and wave goodbye to his teenager son's school bus. At first the intention was to embarrass his teenager with this prank, but it has turned out to the an amusement that his son and his schoolmates anticipate every morning.
Check out the video below for the different costumes that Dale wore. For more stories about Dale Price and Wave at the Bus, visit their blog here.

Kung Fu Panda 2 3D Weekend Experience

Before the school begins, I treated the kids to a 3D movie.  Last weekend, we went to the only cinema in the city which shows 3D movies, and luckily the Kung Fu Panda 2 was still showing, it was on its 2nd week, so there weren't many people watching, which was good for us.

It was the first time that the kids watch a 3D movie and I really say that they enjoyed it. After we went out of the cinema, they started babbling about their experience. One said that she closed her eyes every time Po punched or Tigress kicked because she was afraid of being hit. Another said that he felt that he was going to join them in fight. The older kids would not say about how awe they felt, as I know that they did not want to feel embarrassed, but I know that they really had fun watching.

Now, they are telling me to watch out for the opening of Pirates of Caribbean and Transformers, as they would also like to watch them in 3D. Oh, my.. I think I need to start saving for the ticket hehehe...

Louder by Charice

Am I done writing about Charice? No, not yet :p
Well, I occasionally write about Charice specially if something big is happening to her career, and last few weeks were quite big weeks for her, and although I am not really a die-hard fan(not yer :p), I do like her and her songs. At the moment, I listen everyday to her new songs specially the one she sang in the Glee finale, As Long As You're There, the song written by Bruno Mars, Before It Explodes, and the song co-written and co-produced by Nick Jonas, One Day, the and now a new favorite specially during my workout time, Louder.

Charice's new song, Louder really captures the youth and the young at heart. It is danceable and singing-able(?). I like the beat and the lyrics. As listening to Charice's incredible voice, belting out, "Let my heart beats louder than my head, head, head" hahaha... see? I memorize her song :p

Well, well, just listen to Charice's Louder and pump up your energy: By the way, it sounds better on ITunes, get your copy of Louder by Charice here: http://wbr.fm/LouderiTunes

Snakes on Plane, NO in the House!

Would you buy and live in a house full of snakes? Certainly not! Even if you are a snake lover, you would not want them slithering below, above, and all over your house, sharing your bed and having breakfast with you.

I saw a news today in yahoo about the house in Idaho which is foreclosed twice because the two families who lived there were infested by snakes, garter snakes in particular. Garter snakes are not dangerous but having hundreds of them inside and around your house is enough to freak you out. According to the news, the bank told the second family that the first family who lived there made up stories about snakes to escape paying the mortgage. They found out later that the bank lied to them and the stories of snakes are real.

Check out the video of this house in Idaho with snakes in it.

Charice and Pia will duet on American Idol Finale

Are we going to get a double dose of Charice this week? We are still digesting Charice/Sunshine's performance on Glee finale and news has it that Charice will be doing a duet with American Idol reject Pia Toscano in the American Idol finale tonight!

This has started as a rumor when Pia expressed her wish to do a duet with Charice and Charice has replied the same. There are surprise performances and guests on the AI finale and netizens are going crazy about this rumor until yesterday. However, the rumor has finally become a fact when according to teen.com and clevvermusic, a reporter from Fox said that Charice will be singing with Pia on the finale which will be aired live tonight. Let's cross our fingers till tonight's finale.

Missed Charice on Glee Finale? Watch Here

I'm so proud of Charice in Glee's season 2 finale! In her first appearance in Glee 2 episode 1, we all know that her voice is so great however, her acting was not good, but in the last night's episode, Nationals, I've seen an improvement on her acting. I'm thinking that she is definitely taking acting lessons as she is also filming her upcoming movie, Here Comes the Boom with Salma Hayek.

What I didn't like though is her dress and hairstyle in Glee's finale episode. She looked so chubby in the blue puffy dress, and since she has round face, her hairstyle didn't complement her too. Well, her singing of As Long As You're There filled up what's missing in her dress and hair styles.

By the way, if you haven't seen the Glee's Finale, below is the clip where Charice appeared. Rachel and Sunshine once again met in the girl's room and Sunshine and Vocal Adrenaline's performance on stage. (compliment to for the upload)

As Long As You're There

Lyrics :
Hmm
Mmm
All my life
I've waited for the right
Moment to let you know
I don't wanna let you go oh

But now I've realized
There's just no perfect time
To confess how I feel
This much I know is real

So I refuse to
Waste one more second without you
Knowing my heart

Baby cause I don't
Need anything else but your love
Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete

When you're not there
Holding me, touching me, I swear
All of the rest could just disappear
And I wouldn't even care
As long as you're there

Take these words
Don't let them go unheard
This is me reaching out
I hope you can hear it now

Cause baby my heart's at stake
Take it
It's yours to break

I'd rather try and lose
Than keep this love from you
Yeaah

So I refuse to
Waste one more second
Without you
Knowing my heart

Baby cause I don't
Need anything else but your love
Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete

When you're not there
Holding me touching me I swear
All of the rest could just disappear
And I wouldn't even care
As long as you're there

Each day and night
That I've kept this a secret
It'd killed me
It's time
To share what I feel inside

Sunshine with Vocal Adrenaline:
I don't
Need anything else but your love
Nothing but you means a thing to me
I'm incomplete

When you're not there
Holding me touching me I swear
All of the rest could just disappear
And I wouldn't even care
As long as you're there
(Vocal Adrenaline: As long as you're there)
As long as you're there

Fast and Furious 5 and Jollibee

The whole family had a great time last weekend. We went to the city and went to the only movie theater the shows 3D movies, unfortunately, there was not 3D movie being shown, the Kung Fu Panda 2 will be next week, so we ended up watching Fast and Furious 5. The small kids weren't so happy about it but the grown-ups enjoyed the fast cars and action-packed movie. I've seen the previous installment of the the Fast and the Furious and this one is most likely the same as before, the team up of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, and just like the previous movies, they up again against the law.

After the movie, it was the kids' time, so instead of pizza, we headed to Jollibee and had some burgers and fries. Then we roam around the city and some malls. It was a good weekend.
