Hypnosis to Lose Weight
Why does hypnosis help with weight loss?
It's becoming more and more common nowadays to turn to hypnosis when we want to achieve a goal. We may want to quit smoking, rid ourselves of phobias or lose weight – in all these cases hypnosis offers a proven and successful solution. So why does hypnosis work?
If you look at hypnosis for weight loss then the reasons behind the success of this method becomes clear. If you suffer from weight problems – whether you yo-yo diet or can't seem to find the motivation to get on a diet that suits you – then you probably already know that your problem isn't really your weight at the end of the day. The problem is more likely to rest with you.
In the majority of cases people cannot lose weight effectively because of some psychological issue that prevents them from achieving their goal. You may, for example, naturally crave unhealthy foods rather than healthy ones. Eating unhealthy foods here may make you happier and more comfortable. Or, you may eat the wrong foods or the wrong amount of food whenever you are stressed, unhappy or uncomfortable. In either case hypnosis can help.
Hypnosis helps here because it goes straight to the root of the problem – your unhealthy eating patterns – and helps modify your behavior. So, after this kind of treatment your mind won't tell you to eat sugary or fatty foods – it will tell you to eat healthy ones. And, your mind won't tell you to reach for a snack when you're worried or stressed but instead will give you an alternative ways to manage stress. This behavior modification is the key to successful weight loss – and keeping it off.
How do I know hypnosis works?
Hypnosis is a scientifically accredited method of helping people overcome all kinds of difficulties. For example, in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (Vol.64, No.3) in 1996 a study showed that the average weight loss without hypnosis was 6.03 pounds. With hypnosis average weight loss came in at 14.88 pounds. So, with hypnosis you can double your weight loss with no extra effort.
And, because hypnosis modifies your behavior at source then you stand a far greater chance of keeping the weight off rather than putting it on again. A study that appeared in the Journal of Clinical Psychology (41) in 1985 tested a group of people who used hypnosis to lose weight and a group who did not. Whilst both groups lost weight during the study the hypnosis group continued to lose weight after the study had finished and achieved their weight loss goals. The group that did not have the behavior modification benefits of hypnosis did not achieve this.

Pacquaio, Mayweather Fight Possible?
Recently, it's been in the news that Filipino boxing hero, Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have settled the defamation lawsuit filed by Manny against Floyd a couple of years ago, so will that mean that Pacquaio VS Mayweather fight is coming near? Well, let's hope so since the boxing fans have been waiting for this to happen to finally settle the debate on who is the best boxing fighter in this era and who will sell more boxing tickets.
But before any Pacquaio-Mayweather clash, Manny will have to emerge a winner against Juan Miguel Marquez for the for the fourth time to once and once and for all finalize who's better between them. So for boxing fans out there, it's now time to save for this dream match, and perhaps be able to buy Floyd Mayweather Jr boxing tickets and Manny Pacquiao boxing tickets.

Let's Move & Let's Love
This week, while checking my email, I saw a mail from World Vision with a picture of a child smiling. According to an email, this child needs sponsor for her education. I've heard World Vision before and had a friend who sponsored a child by donating a monthly amount to World Vision. Before this week ends, I'll have my own sponsor child whom I'll help to fulfill her dreams.
When I first heard of World Vision, I was skeptical because I want that the money I'll donate will really benefit the child, but when my friend showed me the letters and pictures of the child she sponsored, I was convinced that she's really helping the kid on her education. I also saw several testimonials from other sponsored children who are now grown up and fully successful. They in turn sponsor other children, so it's has become pay-it-forward. If every one of use will sponsor a child for his education, every children in this country will surely get a degree and have a better life.
And just like the United Colors of Benetton's new perfume, Let's Move and Let's Love by sponsoring a child and making his and family's lives better.

Seafood in my Mind
One of the perks of living near the coast is having the abundance of the sea at its freshest state. Philippines is composed of more than 7,000 island and the ocean is rich so having fish, shellfish, crabs, or shrimps on the table is pretty much common or is it?
When I was young, my father and I usually woke up at 5 in the morning on weekends just to catch up with the fishermen on their small boats (bangka) for their catch of the day. For 20 pesos, we were able to buy a bunch of fish that would be good enough for lunch and dinner. During squid season, we would have squid for several days and our teeth would be black from the squid ink because our mom only knew cooking squid adobo. Crabs and shrimps were usually more expensive even today because local fishermen do not catch them or if there are some which their nets caught, it will be for their own consumption.
How I miss those early mornings wait, the smell of the sea, the views of the fishermen boat approaching the shore, the early catch of the day, my father's bargaining, the smell of fresh fish. Now, those are just memories, even I go to the beach early morning and although there are still fishermen catching fish, their catch is just enough to feed their family, so no fish for me. If I want fish, it is not the sea that I should go for, but the market in the town, where they sell fish and other seafood caught from the farthest part of the country. Hayyy... how I long for the good old days....

The Dark Knight Tragedy
For several days, I have been following reports about the Colorado shooting and I can't help but think what kind of sick person would plan and end lives of people he doesn't even know. The shooting that happened in the screening of the move The Dark Knight, the last of the trilogy of the Batman, is really disturbing, specially that the suspect is claiming that he is the Joker, a villain character in Batman, which was played by late Heath Ledger in Batman Returns.
This tragedy would make you think if violent movies should be ban forever and instead we'll just make happy movies like fairy tales, wholesome cartoons, and love stories movies, but of course, that would be preposterous. Movies are an art form and must be celebrated. With movies, our imagination is endless. How many inventions were inspired by movies that we are enjoying now? Movies are the outlet of our ideas and feelings. It is sad that it is used to cause harm and agony to others. If we only know the boundary of movies and reality, this shooting and any other killings and robberies inspired by movies would never happen.
To the victims of Colorado massacre and to their families and friends, my condolences.

RIP, Dolphy, the King of Comedy
Dolphy, King of Comedy
When I was young, the nights would not be complete without watching John and Marsha, and later on, Home Along Da Riles. Dolphy had been a part of my childhood, watching every night his TV shows and sometimes his movies on the theater. His comedy shows were the binding agent that kept my family together after supper. His movies were the treats that my mother would give me, and later my children's treat from mine. The King of Comedy had brought laughter to every Filipinos and had remained a relief to every sad moments.
Sadly, yet partly happy, Dolphy has now joined the Creator. After battling complicated health problems for months, he is now home. Thank you, Mang Dolphy for laughter and happy memories you gave to every one who watched you on TV and theater. Rest in peace.

When the Blogger's Mind Blacked Out
The unhelpful heritage vanishes.
It's been months since my last post. I wasn't busy but I just can't get myself write something to blog about. There were so many events and issues that had happened which I thought of writing about, however every time I lay my fingers on the keyboard, they can't seem to type my thoughts. Sometimes I wish that there will be an application that would translate our thoughts to written words so that I would not need to type nor put my thoughts into words.
I'm writing this hoping that through my rambling, my fingers would cooperate and my mind would put its precious(?) thoughts into writing. Ever heard of a phrase "I know it, it's on the tip of my tongue" which actually means, the brain cell that holds that information just bursts and is now dead.
